FAVRE HOPES TO PACK'EM IN AT NEW RESTAURANT

Packers QB Brett Favre will be part-owner of a new,
"upscale" restaurant scheduled to open in downtown Milwaukee
before the start of the '97 NFL season, according to Tom
Daykin of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Other investors
include Farve's agent, James "Bus" Cook, and CO-based
businessman Richard Monfort. The "Brett Favre Steakhouse"
will feature Packer memorabilia, but GM Jeff Whiteman said,
"What we're trying to do is create an association with
sports without a sports bar atmosphere." Reggie White was
interested in the deal initially, but the JOURNAL SENTINEL's
Daykin notes he opted out because of "his Christian beliefs
against serving alcohol" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 4/11).
