NBC TOPS SPORTS EMMY NOMINATIONS WITH 41

          "Boosted by its coverage of the Atlanta Summer
     Olympics," NBC nabbed a record 41 nominations for the 18th
     annual Sports Emmy Awards, according to Stephen Battaglio of
     the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.  The previous record was ABC gaining
     38 nominations in '89.  NBC's coverage of the Summer Games
     captured 18 nominations, including Best Live Event
     turnaround.  ESPN was second with 18 nominations; Fox had
     11; ABC, ten; TNT, seven; CBS, six; HBO, six; The Outdoor
     Life cable channel, two; and TBS, one.  The awards ceremony
     will take place April 23 (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 3/27).
