WILL PUBLIC GET A CHANCE TO JOIN THE REDS ARMY?

With a share of the Reds soon to be for sale, Hamilton
County Treasurer Robert Goering "proposed a state law change
that would allow taxpayers to buy it," according to Michaud
& Fasig of the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. Goering has asked State
Senate President Richard Finan and State Rep. Robert Schuler
to introduce legislation that would allow OH counties to
invest in major-league franchises that operate in their
communities. State law now permits counties to invest "only
in Treasury bills, Treasury notes and government agencies."
Frisch's Restaurants Inc. has said it will sell its 6.66%
share of the Reds (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 3/26).
