The Warriors have raised prices for the Oakland
Coliseum Arena, the team's renovated arena to re-open next
season, according to David Steele of the S.F. CHRONICLE.
Prices have "leaped in every section, so that the cheapest
seat goes from $9.75 to $12.50 and the most expensive, at
courtside, goes from $60 to as much as $200. Warriors
Counsel Robin Baggett called fans' response to the increase
"phenomenal ... (On Tuesday) we had 400 responses, and four
or five people made derogatory comments" (S.F. CHRONICLE,
3/27). Courtside tickets will go up $140 from $60-200, and
$34 tickets will cost $55 ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 3/26).
DOLPHINS: The Dolphins are raising prices for most
season-ticket holders, according to Kevin Ding of the MIAMI
HERALD. The increases range from $1-4 per seat, but the
price of the cheaper seats will remain unchanged --
"including the $17 economy-section ticket that is the
fourth-cheapest season ticket in the NFL." The price
increases are "expected" to net an additional $709,710 next
season. Individual-game tickets will increase "by similar
amounts," with details coming in April (MIAMI HERALD, 3/27).
