WITH NEW FILA DEAL, WEBBER'S FREE-AGENT SHOE STATUS IS OVER

Fila USA announced this morning the signing of Bullets
F Chris Webber to a multi-year endorsement deal. As part of
the agreement, Webber will endorse Fila basketball footwear
and apparel products, as well as casual sportswear. Fila
plans to roll out a Webber signature shoe and apparel
collection in '98. Tentative plans call for the Webber shoe
to be priced between $85-90 (Fila). Webber had worn Nikes
until earlier this season when the two ended their
relationship. During the interim, he had worn other brands,
     including Converse (THE DAILY).
