SI WOMEN/SPORT DEBUTS NEXT MONTH WITH RATE BASE OF 600,000

          The first test issue of Sports Illustrated Women/Sport
     will hit newsstands on April 21, with a cover date of Spring
     1997 (SI).  The issue will have a newsstand price of $2.95
     with a rate base of 600,000, according to Langdon Brockinton
     of INSIDE MEDIA.  The issue will be delivered free to the
     450,000 women who subscribe to SI, and to an undisclosed
     number of women chosen from a Time Warner database.  The
     second issue will be released in September, when "a decision
     will be made on the publication's future frequency."  The
     Spring issue is slated to have "about 110 editorial pages
     and about 70 pages of ads" (INSIDE MEDIA, 3/12).
