WILL THE FLYERS BRING THE SIXERS ALONG TO WIP-E OUT STATION?

If the Flyers can negotiate their way out of their
contract with radio station WIP, "the 76ers will be right
behind them," according to Phil Jasner of the PHILADELPHIA
DAILY NEWS. Comcast Chair Ed Snider: "Obviously we want no
relationship with WIP. ... If and when we discuss that, (the
Sixers) will be part of it." The Flyers are suing WIP over
comments made by talk show host Craig Carton that Eric
Lindros had missed a game due to a hangover. The Sixers are
in the final year of their WIP contract, while the Flyers
deal ends after the '97-98 season. Snider: "I'm sure we'd
be able to find a place (for the games). Nighttime radio
isn't the most important thing to stations. ... It's a bad
marriage (with WIP). We don't want to be there, and we're
hoping they don't want us" (PHILA. DAILY NEWS, 3/12).
