K-III RACING TO SELL PUBLICATIONS; NEW TRACK PAPER COMING

          K-III Communications is putting its Daily Racing Form
     and Pro Football Weekly publications "on the block,"
     according to Angela King of the N.Y. DAILY NEWS.  K-III
     bought the Daily Racing Form from Rupert Murdoch in '91 for
     $650M, and the next owner will be the publication's fourth
     in 12 years. The Daily Racing Form is "also on the verge of
     facing new competition," as the Daily Racing Program debuts
     in April (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 3/12).
