STADIUM NOTES

Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk said Tuesday that asking voters
to tax themselves "just to build a new sports arena" would
be so "painful, bloody and brutal," that the city "should
consider lumping the arena with other civic projects"
(DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 3/12)....The Reds and MLB have
"expressed concern" to local officials that the team's
stadium "is being dictated" by Hamilton County's agreement
with the Bengals. Hamilton County Commission President Bob
Bedinghaus, on the Bengals driving decisions on the Reds
ballpark: "That's absolutely wrong. The Reds just need to
tell us what they want to do" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 3/12).
