THE SPORTS AUTHORITY EXTENDS CONGRATS TO THE NBA'S BEST

          The Sports Authority has unveiled an advertising
     program with an in-store display element centered around the
     announcement of the NBA Player of the Week.  The print and
     broadcast ads and the display signage extend congratulations
     to the winner, with the tagline, "Who Will Be Next?"  Print
     ads will appear in Tuesday editions of USA Today, and TV ads
     air during broadcasts of NBC's "NBA Inside Stuff" and ESPN's
     "NBA Today."  The in-store displays feature a photo of the
     winning player and team- and player-identified merchandise. 
     The ads and displays debuted after All-Star Weekend (NBA).
          MAKING HEADLINERS: CA-based Corinthian Marketing
     received an NBA license to produce a new line of miniature
     sports collectible/toy figures, called "Headliners."
     Initially, the figures will be available for 40 NBA players,
     including Anfernee Hardaway, Grant Hill, Reggie Miller,
     Hakeem Olajuwon, Scottie Pippen and David Robinson (NBA).

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft
