ROGERS JOINS OFMA AS PRESIDENT AND CHIEF MARKETING DIRECTOR

Richard Rogers yesterday took over as President & Chief
Marketing Dir of the Oakland Football Marketing Association
(OFMA), the "troubled" Raiders ticket agency, according to
Rick DelVecchio of the S.F. CHRONICLE. Rogers declined to
divulge the terms of his contract, saying only that he will
receive a base salary, "plus extra," for meeting performance
goals. DelVecchio notes that Rogers "had no sooner greeted
his staff of 39 than he issued a directive: Make courtesy
calls to every Raiders season-ticket holder." Rogers needs
to sell more than 9,000 remaining PSLs created by the OFMA's
original marketing plan in '95. About 35,000 PSLs have been
sold so far. Rogers "doesn't have a marketing program yet"
for the forthcoming season because city and county officials
are "in the thick of talks" with the Raiders over ideas to
restructure the existing plan (S.F. CHRONICLE, 3/11).
