CORESTATES GOING FOR THE HAT TRICK WITH VILLANOVA?

Villanova Univ. is "moving forward with plans to change
the name of duPont Pavilion," a source told Mike Jensen of
the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER. The school's basketball arena is
named after John E. duPont, who was found guilty Tuesday of
third-degree murder, but declared mentally ill in the
January '96 shooting of Olympic wrestler David Schultz.
Jensen's source: "I think they want to get this done very
quickly ... But there is some sensitivity to the situation."
Villanova officials have "talked to officials" at CoreStates
Bank about a possible naming rights deal. CoreStates has
naming rights to the Spectrum and the new CoreStates Center,
where the 76ers and Flyers play (PHILA. INQUIRER, 2/28).
