Bucs GM Rich McKay said in a deposition yesterday that
last year Hollywood Park, CA, race track Owner R.D. Hubbard
offered $60M up front as well as up to $90M in additional
revenues to Bucs Owner Malcolm Glazer if he would sell
Hubbard 10% of the team and move it to a proposed Hollywood
Park sports complex and call them the "Spidermen" (TAMPA
TRIBUNE, 2/27)....New IHL Long Beach Ice Dogs CEO Joann
Klonowski is profiled in the Long Beach PRESS-TELEGRAM. Her
hiring is the "latest in a series of moves aimed at
increasing ticket sales." The Ice Dogs, in their first
season, are last in attendance in the 19-team league,
averaging 2,896 a game at the Long Beach Arena. The team
will "expand its marketing energies" to more cities and
Klonowksi said she would "like to see an average of 5,000 or
6,000 a game" for next season. She also agrees with the
team policy of not giving tickets away: "Typically, if you
get a free ticket, you're less likely to attend" (Long Beach

Avery Johnson and Vinny Del Negro announced the "All-Star
Connection 4 San Antonio" program which will supply 40 area
schools with more than a half-million dollars in computer

plans to "voluntarily relinquish" his position as Dir of
