JETS ARE TOP RECIPIENTS OF NFL REVENUE SHARING PLAN

Since its creation two years ago, a "little-known fund"
established by the NFL has been distributing payments to
seven low-revenue teams, including the Jets and the Bengals,
     from a $24M "reservoir of premium-seat and personal-license
revenue and relocation fees," according to Richard Sandomir
of the N.Y. TIMES. The Jets, who qualify for the fund by
"underperforming" league averages in revenues, "top the
list," receiving "at least" $2M a year. Jets President
Steve Gutman declined to comment on the report, adding,
"That's getting into confidentiality." Sandomir notes what
separates low-revenue teams from other ones is "mostly what
they earn" from tickets, advertising, premium seats,
preseason TV revenue and sponsorships (N.Y. TIMES, 2/26).
