Locke's new stadium plan "credible, compelling," adding,

burden of public support on sports fans, largely through the
proposed tax on sports memorabilia, which is expected to
raise $171 million over 20 years" (SEATTLE TIMES, 2/25).
....In Boston, the GLOBE's Joan Vennochi examined the
"silence" of the "leaders" of the Boston business community
during the Patriots' stadium negotiations, noting "the
silence of the city's top executives -- together with
Kraft's self-destructive tendencies -- helped kill the
stadium plan" (BOSTON GLOBE, 2/26). NFL Dir of
Communications Greg Aiello, on the possibility of a Patriots
stadium being built on land owned by Mashantucket Pequots in
CT, who also run a large casino: "The point is that there
is nothing in our rules that specifically prohibits an NFL
team from playing in a stadium built on land owned by a
casino. Our concern would be the relationship between the
team and the casino gambling interests" (Providence JOURNAL-
BULLETIN, 2/26)....In Baltimore, the SUN's Jon Morgan notes
the "fine print of the Ravens' controversial" PSL plan has
"finally" gone to potential buyers (Baltimore SUN, 2/22).
