ISIAH HOPES TO HAVE A SURE SHOT WITH HOOPS INVESTMENT

          Raptors VP ISIAH THOMAS is buying a majority stake in
     Sure Shot, a MI-based company that produces basketball
     backboards and related products, according to Steve Raphael
     of the DETROIT NEWS.  Thomas will pay $1.5M for controlling
     interest in Sure Shot Int'l Inc. and assume the position of
     company chair.  The company was founded by Harry Bachmann
     and went public in '94.  Sure Shot lost money through the
     first nine months of '96, but Thomas' new role with the
     company sent stock up yesterday to $2.43 3/4 in "heavy"
     afternoon trading on the NASDAQ (DETROIT NEWS, 2/25).
