SNEAK PEAK: In Boston, the GLOBE's Jim Greenidge
reports that Naehring's Fox promo has him blindfolded, and
"after a ball zips past his head, a coach is heard shouting
that '90 percent of playing third base is instinct.'" That
is followed by another ball being hit, "this time the ball
hits Naehring in the groin." Mo Vaughn's promo opens with
"him being told what to say to reporters through a
transmitter in his ear." That is followed by Vaughn at bat,
being told that the pitcher will throw a fastball, and
Vaughn hits a home run. "While Vaughn is circling the
bases, the transmitter is prompting him on how to run -
'left foot, right foot, left foot...'" (BOSTON GLOBE, 2/21).
