MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          The AA Southern League has signed a sponsorship deal
     with ATCALL Inc. whereby ATCALL's pre-paid Calling Cards
     will be sold in each league ballpark during the '97 season. 
     Each team will choose one former Southern League star to be
     featured on the cards sold at its stadium (Southern League).
     ...Nike and Reebok say that they are "significantly"
     increasing the amount of MLS merchandise they are producing,
     leading MLS to predict merchandise sales will reach $100-
     120M this year (USA TODAY, 2/21)....AND 1 has teamed up with
     Foot Locker to celebrate T-Wolves' rookie Stephon Marbury's
     20th birthday.  Fans were able to sign oversized cards in
     local Foot Lockers and in the lobby of the Target Center,
     and a special presentation will take place tonight after the
     game against the Warriors (AND 1)....NJ-based ISI has signed
     on to be the exclusive marketing representative for Packers
     WR Desmond Howard, Rockets G Clyde Drexler, and Ravens QB
     Vinny Testaverde (ISI)....ABC named Leonard/Monahan Inc.,
     Providence, to handle the ad account for ABC Sports. 
     Billings were estimated at $3-4M (N.Y. TIMES, 2/21).
     ...CORRRECTION: Sony Playstation's ad agency is Chiat Day,
     LA, not Lowe & Partners as reported in last Friday's edition
     of THE DAILY.  Lowe & Partners is the agnecy for Sony
     Electronics (THE DAILY).
