HOLLYWOOD REPORTER NOTES NBC SPORTS' EWERT HEADED TO THE EYE

CBS executives confirmed that NBC Sports Producer Terry
Ewert will be named the new Exec Producer of CBS Sports.
Ewert replaces Rick Gentile, who is now Exec Producer of
CBS' '98 Winter Olympics coverage. Ewert has been with NBC
Sports since '78, and has won six Emmy Awards. Gentile said
he "has been asked to stay on with CBS" after the Olympics,
but he has not discussed a specific position with CBS Sports
President Sean McManus (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 2/20).
GENTILE ON NAGANO: Gentile is interviewed in USA TODAY
by Rudy Martzke and discusses CBS' coverage in Nagano. Of
CBS' 128 hours of Olympic coverage, the opening ceremonies,
the men's downhill skiing and the hockey tournament will be
events shown live. Gentile: "We will say when we're on
tape." Gentile also said that "topping the rating of 18.7
for the '92 Games in Albertville, France, is a more likely
goal" than a "repeat of the 27.8 ratings for the '94 Games
in Lillehammer, Norway" (Rudy Martzke, USA TODAY, 2/20).
