San Diego-based telecom company Qualcomm and the San
Diego City Council "have hammered out an $18 million, up-
front cash deal that would place the company's name on the
city's stadium for 20 years," according to Barry Bloom in
the SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE. The deal would provide the
$18M needed to complete the stadium expansion project, which
is scheduled to go before Superior Court Judge Anthony
Joseph tomorrow. The council is scheduled to meet in closed
session Friday to discuss the Qualcomm agreement and other
stadium issues (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 2/19).
