FILA WORKING WITH ARNELL GROUP ON NEW FEMALE LINES

          Fila will "tap the empathy of everyday female athletes"
     with a $5M print and POP campaign debuting at the end of
     February for women's shoes and apparel handled by N.Y.-based
     Arnell Group, according to Steve Gelsi of BRANDWEEK.  Later
     this spring, Fila will introduce a second $5M unisex
     clothing campaign, featuring black-and-white photos of
     "unknown" women athletes with the theme, "Designed Specially
     For A Woman's Movement."  Ads will debut in March issues of
     Self, N.Y. Times Magazine and Elle and be included in a
     later run in Marie Claire, Seventeen, Glamour, Vogue and
     Essence.  In addition, the campaign features a spot in the
     new SI for Women.  Arnell, "known" for its DKNY work, will
     work on Fila Sport and Fila Activewear apparel lines for men
     and women national ads (BRANDWEEK, 2/10 issue).
          FREE SPIRIT: Women's athletic footwear maker Easy
     Spirit will introduce a remodeled line of athletic footwear
     featuring a new "proprietary technology" called "Anti-
     Gravity," with a $10M-plus network TV campaign debuting in
     August with a 45-second ad (BRANDWEEK, 2/10 issue).
