ERIC LINDROS SEARCHING FOR NEW AGENT?

          ERIC LINDROS' contract with CARL LINDROS, his father
     and current agent, expires this season, and "it's under
     consideration" for Eric to have a new agent when
     negotiations on his next contract start, according to the
     PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER.  Some "heavyweight" sports agents,
     including Leigh Steinberg and Tom Reich, have expressed
     interest in Eric, "who should command a long-term NHL deal
     in the range of" $50-55M after his current deal expires
     after next season.  League and NHLPA sources say the union
     would like to see the Lindros family hire a "heavy hitter"
     as Lindros' next deal "could be a watershed for the rest of
     the NHL's elite players" (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 2/9).
