NO BENGALS-REDS CINERGY WHILE NEW BALLPARK IS BUILT

          Hamilton County Commissioner Bob Bedinghaus "ruled out"
     Wednesday any possibility that the Reds would play in a new
     Bengals stadium while a new ballpark is constructed,
     according to Anne Michaud in the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. 
     Bedinghaus, who is leading stadium development efforts, said
     he does not want the Reds to play games away from Cincinnati
     for a period of time while their new ballpark is built, so a
     new ballpark built on the current Cinergy Field site is "out
     of the question."  Bedinghaus said he would consider a
     location adjacent to Cinergy Field, suggested this week by
     the executive committee of Downtown Cincinnati Inc., which
     would allow the Reds to continue play during construction of
     a new ballpark.  The DCI executive committee passed a
     resolution Tuesday encouraging county commissioners to study
     the site (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 1/30).
