SUPER BOWL HANGOVER: ONE LAST STROLL DOWN BOURBON STREET

Many media reports today examine potential marketing
opportunities for Super Bowl MVP Desmond Howard, Brett
Favre, and the entire Packers team.
HOWARD'S GENESIS: In Milwaukee, Gary D'Amato notes
that Howard "is back in the spotlight, and ready to cash
in." Howard's agent, Leigh Steinberg: "As it is, he's on
the brink of doing some incredible endorsements" (MILWAUKEE
JOURNAL SENTINEL, 1/28). More Steinberg: "We'll be careful
that we're not force-feeding Desmond to the public. Any
product associated with speed and grace would be interested
in him" (DETROIT NEWS, 1/28). Howard was scheduled to fly
to Florida in Disney's corporate jet Monday night for a
Tuesday parade, and then fly to New York to tape David
Letterman's "Late Show" (USA TODAY, 1/28). This morning,
Reebok ran a full-page ad in the first section of USA TODAY
     congratulating Howard (USA TODAY, 1/28).
FAVRE TO DISNEY? Though he was not the Super Bowl MVP,
Favre did accept an endorsement agreement with Disney,
according to Tom Silverstein in the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL
SENTINEL. After the game, Favre filmed the 'I'm Going to
Disney World' spot. He will also eventually visit Disney as
part of the deal. Favre's marketing agent, Joe Sweeney:
"They decided they wanted to go with Brett because of his
strong recognition" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 1/28).
Favre has signed a deal to write his autobiography this fall
for Doubleday Publishing (USA TODAY, 1/28).
SQUEEZE THE CHEESE: In L.A., T.J. Simers, on the
Packers: "It is time to get rich, which is the curse of any
successful organization with designs on becoming a dynasty,
and if it isn't endorsements and commercials interjecting
jealousy and arrogance into the Packer locker room ... it
will be the NFL's salary cap. ... Too bad. The Packers were
the best thing to happen to the NFL this year" (L.A. TIMES,
1/28)....Favre, Howard, Reggie White, Mark Chmura, and Edgar
Bennett will appear on Wheaties boxes in WI and MN (USA
TODAY, 1/28)....The Packers Antonio Freeman will appear on a
QVC Network Super Bowl special airing tonight from 9-11:00pm
ET, where NJ-based Score Board-licensed Packers merchandise
and collectibles will be featured (Score Board).
