BOOST ON THE BAYOU: BIG EASY LOOKS TO CASH IN ON SUPER BOWL

          New Orleans-based MetroVision Research projects Super     Bowl XXXI will generate an economic impact in the New     Orleans Metropolitan Area of approximately $307M.  The     study, in conjunction with the Greater New Orleans Sports     Foundation, indicates that with 116,300 visitors expected     for Super Bowl week, total spending will be approximately     $127.4M.  Corporate sponsors, the NFL and related     affiliates, and the national and int'l media, are expected     to spend an estimated $26.3M in the region for printing     services, advertising, exhibits and entertainment.      Therefore, total spending should reach $153.7M.  Through the     multiplier effect, the total direct spending of $152.7M is     expected to generate another $153.4M of indirect     expenditures in the New Orleans economy for a total impact     of $307.1M.  The following breakdown is of estimated visitor     spending in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area (MetroVision).
