STADIUM NOTES

          In Toronto, there is a "better than 50-50 chance" that
     the Maple Leafs will build their new arena at the city's
     Exhibition Place, according to Exhibition Chair Joe
     Pantalone.  Exhibition Place is one of six sites the Maple
     Leafs are considering (TORONTO STAR, 1/23)....In
     Indianapolis, the Pacers have agreed pay $1.4M to front the
     costs of initial design work for a proposed $175M arena
     (INDIANAPOLIS STAR-NEWS, 1/22)....Project managers for the
     NHL Panthers planned arena in Sunrise have reconfigured a
     planned Sawgrass Expressway interchange to include a
     "flyover" to funnel traffic leaving the arena into the
     Southbound lanes of the western toll road (MIAMI HERALD,
     1/23)....AHL Baltimore Bandits Owner Michael Caggiano ended
     his plans of building a new arena near Baltimore after he
     was unable to persuade county officials to free up public
     money to help develop the $42M, 11,500-seat facility
     (Baltimore SUN, 1/23)....Foxboro Stadium will host the April
     20 World Cup qualifying match between the USA and Mexico
     (USA TODAY, 1/23)....In Milwaukee, Bradley Center officials
     said they may add about 1,000 club seats to supplement the
     revenue raised by the arena's 68 luxury suites (MILWAUKEE
     BUSINESS JOURNAL, 1/20)....In Columbus, a poll showed that
     more than 55% of heads of households oppose a sales tax
     increase to help fund a downtown arena/stadium sports and
     entertainment complex (COLUMBUS BUSINESS JOURNAL, 1/20).
