WOODS CREATES FOUNDATION TO PROMOTE GOLF AND OTHER SPORTS

Tiger Woods and his parents have created the Tiger
Woods Foundation to promote golf and non-sports activities
for inner-city youth, according to USA TODAY's Jerry Potter.
Woods will conduct around six clinics each year, with plans
for one in Dallas, Orlando, New York and Chicago. They
will be held on a Monday, before the PGA Tour events in
those cities. Memphis and Miami are also being considered.
Woods' father, Earl, said the foundation would also target
worldwide projects, adding "The Tiger is not limited to
America. He's a citizen of the world" (USA TODAY, 1/22).
Woods: "I'm in a position to influence people in a positive
way. Gosh, that's a position anyone would like to be in.
That's what life's all about" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 1/22).
GOLF DEALS: ISI, East Rutherford, NJ, has brokered
sponsorship deals for three golfers: Paul Goydos with Tommy
Armour Golf, Black Ice Face Coating and Carlyle Golf; Jim
Furyk with Top Flite Strata and Nike; and Dicky Pride with
Cleveland Golf and Supreme International/Grand Slam (ISI).
