NOTES: Buffalo and Philadelphia are playing at the larger Marine Midland Arena and CoreStates Center, respectively. Tampa Bay plays at the smaller Ice Palace. Montreal and Ottawa start their first full seasons at Molson and Corel Centres, respectively. Phoenix relocated from Winnipeg and plays at the larger America West Arena. Detroit increased capacity slightly from '95-96. Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver decreased capacity slightly from '95-96. The '95-96 average is for the season as a whole. The '95-96 comparisons are for both the season as a whole and through the same number of home dates. Overall, the league is averaging 16,094 per game and playing at 91% capacity. -30-
