NAMES IN THE NEWS

          Red Sox 1B MO VAUGHN has written a children's book
     called "Follow Your Dreams," published by Taylor Publishing
     Co. (BOSTON HERALD, 12/15)....MARK PRICE will get to "show
     off his vocal chords" in front of a national audience for a
     second straight holiday season.  During a recent stay in
     N.Y., he taped a segment singing "Deck the Halls" for NBC. 
     It will be shown during halftime of the NBA game on
     Christmas Day.  Last year, Price and brother BRENT, sang a
     Christmas duet during the halftime show (S.F. EXAMINER,
     12/15)....JERRY DIAMOND, who served as President of Roller
     Hockey International and was Exec Dir of the WTA, passed
     away Monday following a four month battle with cancer (RHI).
