PACKERS AND NFL GO ON ATTACK AGAINST WI-BASED T-SHIRT SELLER

The Packers and NFL Properties filed suit against WI-
based ProStyle Inc. and Sheri Tanner, who once worked for
the Packers fan club, America's Pack, and the "Packer
Report," alleging that ProStyle and Tanner are illegally
selling apparel displaying the Packers colors, designs and
logos similar to trademarks owned by the team. The lawsuit
also alleges ProStyle and Tanner misappropriated fan club
customer lists while sending catalogs and using the Internet
to improperly advertise their products. The Packers and NFL
Properties have asked for a preliminary injunction to stop
ProStyle and Tanner from using the trademarks or marks in
question. No court date has been set for the injunction
request (Dave Daley, MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 12/14).
RUN THE REVERSE: USA TODAY's Bruce Horovitz looks at
reversible sports apparel. Horovitz: "Driving this reverse-
o-mania is a determined push by the sports licensing world
to reverse three years of flat sales." Starter CEO David
Beckerman: "It may have started out as a fashion idea, but
it's become a practical concept" (USA TODAY, 12/16).
