Deion Sanders has been fined $5,000 by the NFL for
stenciling "78" in honor of teammate Leon Lett on headwear
and wristbands during last Sunday's Cowboys-Cardinals game.
Lett was suspended for one-year for violation of the
league's drug policy ("Sports Tonight," CNN, 12/11)....Buick
Motor Division and its tournament partners have added
$900,000 to the prize money available for the four '97
Buick-sponsored PGA Tour events: Buick Classic, Buick Open,
Buick Invitational and Buick Challenge (AD AGE,

Commissioner Gary Bettman as they push for realignment to

Health Minister David Dingwall accused the car racing
industry of blackmail for threatening to pull races out of
Canada over his proposed legislation that would curb tobacco
advertisement and sponsorship. IndyCar President Andrew
Craig: "I don't regard it as blackmail at all ... If Canada
becomes unpalatable to us, then obviously, we're going to go
