WOULD THEY HAVE GREY POUPON? BUT OF COURSE, AT CLASSIC JOINT

Classic Sports Network is "extending its brand into the
themed restaurant segment," according to Terry Lefton in
BRANDWEEK. With plans to open the first restaurant in early
'97 and five more by the end of June, Classic Sports
restaurants "will follow a formula of memorabilia, trivia
contests, interactive games and a '(TGI) Friday's type,
burgers-plus menu.'" The establishments will attempt to
differentiate from competitors, The Official All-Star Cafe
and ESPN Club at Disney World, by "offering a family
atmosphere." Lefton notes the restaurants will be a joint
venture with a national hotel chain, most likely Marriott.
(BRANDWEEK, 11/25 issue). Classic Sports will open its
first eatery in Dallas, with others to follow in "suburban
     areas" (MEDIAWEEK, 11/25 issue).
