MLB, PART II: WINTER MEETINGS TO TAKE ON A NEW LOOK

As host of MLB's winter meetings from December 4-10,
the Red Sox "have worked hard to change the way the meetings
will be held, especially in terms of bringing fans into the
activities," according to Peter Gammons of the BOSTON GLOBE.
Over the weekend, the Red Sox and MLB will hold a Winterfest
at the convention headquarters with products, collectibles
and exhibits. The Red Sox will make team current personnel
and past players on hand for autograph sessions and if a
trade or signing is made, they plan to make that player
available to fans. The team will also unveil their two new
"two-tone caps," which will be used "occasionally" next
year. The meetings are expected to bring in more than $3.5M
of business to Boston over the week (BOSTON GLOBE, 11/24).
