          An Amtrak train carrying Jets fans from Albany, N.Y. to
     Buffalo for yesterday's Jets-Bills game struck an abandoned
     car on the tracks just outside Albany.  No one was injured. 
     The Bills also chartered an Amtrak train from Albany for
     fans to make the 290-mile trip (USA TODAY, 11/25)....The
     Bills are considering operating excursion trains from
     Toronto and Cleveland to some home games next season.  The
     chartered train from Albany yesterday brought 980 fans,with
     1,500 more on a waiting list.  Bills' Marketing Dir John
     Livsey:  "We were surprised at the response.  We've been
     working on a deal with Amtrak for two years and when we
     announced this, it sold out in two days" (TORONTO STAR,
     11/23)....The announced Astrodome attendance for the
     Panthers-Oilers game was 20,107.  The record low was 20,082
     on September 15, '96 (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 11/25)....76ers
     President Pat Croce was profiled in the N.Y. DAILY NEWS. 
     Croce: "I don't get it with these autographs.  I mean, a
     signature on a piece of paper.  Why?  But hey, why not? 
     I'll never say no" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 11/24)....In
     Minneapolis, Target Center Exec Dir Dana Warg says an IHL
     team is available for the '97-'98 season if he can find
     financial backers (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 11/24).
