MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

     Sources close to MLB tell INSIDE MEDIA's Brockinton &
Reynolds that a number of "blue chip companies," including
Microsoft, IBM and auto manufacturers are "poised to connect" on
national sponsorship packages if the players and owners can reach
a labor deal (INSIDE MEDIA, 11/13)....The Sports Authority earned
net income of $2.0M, or $.06/share, compared to net income of
$0.6M, or $.02/share in the third quarter of '95.  Sales for the
third quarter were $292.9M, a 25.1% increase from $234.2M for the
same period a year ago.  Net income for the first nine months of
the year was $13.2M, or $.41/share, a 43.4% increase over $9.2M,
or $.29/share in the same period last year (The Sports
Authority).
