BELA TELLING ACOG, "YOU CAN, YOU CAN, YOU CAN BREAK EVEN"

ACOG officials are expected to announce a "break-even or
better prognosis" in their first analysis of the Atlanta Games
for the IOC, according to Melissa Turner of the ATLANTA
CONSTITUTION. ACOG is "now less" than $15M away from hitting
their revenue goal of $1.7B and there's more money coming in.
But "no big surplus is expected and no big bonuses will be given
to ACOG employees." ACOG is "likely to spend the majority of
its financial cushion as it pays its final bills" on the
conversion of Olympic Stadium for the Braves. Revenue will
continue to come in from final value-in-kind payments from
sponsors, royalties on licensed goods and sales in ACOG's own
retail stores. The only "messy leftovers are lawsuits,"
including a claim by the stadium design team of nearly $5.4M for
overtime work and a $1.5M class-action suit filed by people who
say they were overcharged for the Olympic season-ticket plans
(ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 11/13).
