RAPTORS WATCH: T-MINUS ONE DAY UNTIL SHOTGUN DISCHARGED

     The dispute over control of the Raptors is expected to be
resolved by tomorrow, and according to unnamed sources cited by
Frank Zicarelli of the TORONTO SUN, "deep pocketed investors
don't have the confidence in [Raptors President John] Bitove Jr.
and would rather do business with John Bitove Sr."  Zicarelli
also reports there is "talk the Bitove family is split" on
whether to take control of the team or be bought out by partner
Allan Slaight (TORONTO SUN, 11/13).  In Toronto, James Christie
writes that if Bitove decides to buy out Slaight, he has an
additional 60 days to arrange the financing.  Bitove Jr. added it
would be "incorrect" to say he was putting the "finishing
touches" on a financing package: "I'm not trying to be evasive,
just trying to be prudent until we have certainty as to what we
are doing." Slaight had no comment (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 11/13).
