NHL Oilers Owner PETER POCKLINGTON has reportedly made a C$27.7M bid on behalf of his private holding company, Pocklington Financial, to acquire full control of margarine producer Canbra Foods, Ltd. of Alberta (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 10/30)....Virginia consultant, THOMAS ARONSON, who is attempting to run the Foxboro, MA harness track, admitted that he has "major financial backing" from Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT.
