RECORDS SHOW POHLADS CUTTING MORE CHECKS THIS ELECTION YEAR

Twins Owner Carl Pohlad and sons, Bob, Bill and Jim, have
donated "at least" $30,350 to four state legislative caucuses,
according to Jay Weiner of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. Bob
Pohlad: "Our giving to all of the caucuses is a part of both the
political process and the process of hoping we can convince the
people of Minnesota to listen to our story and ultimately support
a new ballpark." Pohlad added, "We're not trying to buy votes.
There's probably a group of people who think that. Yes, we made
the contribution. It's the way the world works." Weiner notes
that Pohlads' donations this year are "usually large for the
family" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 10/30).
