MEDIA NOTES

     Ahmad Rashad will host "NBA Special: The Greatest Ever,"
this Saturday on NBC.  He will be joined by Marv Albert to
present the NBA's 50 Greatest Players.  Albert will then moderate
a round-table discussion with Peter Vecsey (N.Y. Post/NBC), Bryan
Burwell (USA Today), and Bob Ryan (Boston Globe) (NBA)....A
merchandising issue kept Curtis Strange from being an analyst for
ABC's Tour Championship.  ABC wanted him on the air, but
"conflicts with sponsors such as Titleist kept him from agreeing
-- at least for now -- to ABC's policy of barring wearing
sponsors' logos while working for the network" (USA TODAY,
10/29)....Under the header "Throwback: The New Adventures of a
'70s Guy," NBC West Coast Operations President Don Ohlmeyer is
featured in NEWSWEEK.  Brown & Marin: "In the outwardly genteel
world of network TV, Ohlmeyer is loud, crass, a chain-smoking
anomaly.  In a town full of dissemblers, he's refreshingly blunt"
(NEWSWEEK, 11/4).
