Reebok will introduce an official line of performance
IRONMAN footwear in spring '97 in conjunction with a renewed
sponsorship agreement reached with the World Triathlon
Corporation. Reebok has been the official footwear and apparel
sponsor of the IRONMAN Triathlon World Championship since '93.
The new agreement also allows Reebok the exclusive right to
design and market performance footwear that will bear the IRONMAN
Triathlon logo. To promote the new collection, Reebok has signed
product endorsement contracts with two premier triathletes and
champions, Greg Welch and Michellie Jones of Australia. The
first of the IRONMAN line will be available December '96
(Reebok).
JUST FOR THE KIDS: Reebok has granted a license to Haddad
Apparel Group to produce a line of authentic Reebok Brand
athletic apparel and accessories for infants and toddlers. An
introductory line will be available April '97, with a more
complete line available in fall '97 (Reebok).
MORE REEBOK: Reebok ended its relationship with Michael
Conrad & Leo Burnett in Germany. Although Leo Burnett is
Reebok's regional coordinator for Europe, the German agency only
handled project work. In the future, Reebok Germany said it will
work with Munich-based Start Advertising. Leo Burnett is
Reebok's U.S. ad agency (AD AGE ONLINE, 10/25).
