NINERS BACK IN FOCUS AFTER ANNIVERSARY UNIFORMS REDESIGNED

The 49ers have redesigned their 50th anniversary uniforms,
which were originally fashioned by the NFL, after complaints that
the numbers on the new jerseys were illegible, according to Susan
Dowdney of the CONTRA COSTA TIMES. Dowdney writes 49ers
equipment manager Bronco Hinek expanded the inner circles in the
zeros, eights, nines and sixes, so the numbers would be
"decipherable." Hinek: "From a distance it looked like a blob.
... We wanted to make it easier for the fans and TV people to
see. It's better now. It's crisper" (CONTRA COSTA TIMES,
10/24).
