The Twins raised prices for the "best" Metrodome seats by
$1. VIP seating, lower club-level seats and lower reserved seats
will increase to $18, $16 and $13, respectively. The club will
continue to offer an $83 season ticket for upper deck general
admission for a limited time in March. Twins President Jerry
Bell, on whether the increase is connected to the pursuit of a
new stadium: "Not at all. It's been three years since we've

Center head Dana Warg says he has been unable to find a general
partner to come up with the "big money" needed to finance an NHL
expansion club for the facility. Warg suggested he might rent
the inactive IHL San Francisco franchise and operate it at the
Target Center for the '97-98 season (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE,
10/25)....CFL Commissioner Larry Smith's status as will be
discussed in a "secret meeting" of the league's Board of

Owner David Macdonald: "The last time we had a straw vote, about
six or seven weeks ago, the governors were unanimously in favor
of rehiring Larry as commissioner. But things have changed.

basketball-boxing doubleheader November 9, when the Suns-Sixers,
followed by a closed-circuit telecast of the Tyson-Holyfield
fight. 76ers President Pat Croce said anyone attending the
basketball game can watch the fight at no additional charge
