THE PRICE OF SUCCESS? INDIANS RAISE PRICES AT THE JAKE

The Indians yesterday announced ticket prices for the '97
season, including increases in seven out of ten seating
categories, according to the Akron BEACON JOURNAL. Field boxes
will go up from $21 to $23. Lower boxes and view boxes will
increase from $17 to $18. Upper box, mezzanine and lower reserve
seats will increase by one dollar. The "biggest increase" comes
in the bleachers, where prices will rise from $8 to $10. Upper
reserved seats, upper reserved general admission seats and
standing room only tickets will remain at $10, $6 and $6,
respectively. Indians VP/Public Relations Bob DiBiasio: "The
reason we do these increases are the economic realities of the
business. ... We must continue to generate revenue" (Akron BEACON
JOURNAL, 10/24).
