MLB NEWS & NOTES: MARLINS GO FISHING FOR MORE FANS

Season-ticket packages for the Marlins in '97 feature
"widespread reduced prices," according to Gregg Doyel of the
MIAMI HERALD. The biggest reduction is in the Club Level Zone A,
where tickets will be reduced from $30 to $20 for season-ticket
holders and $25 individually. Prices in Club Level Zone B seats
will be cut by $2, while terrace box seats, which sold for $11.50
(season) and $13 (per game) this season, have been reduced to
$8.50 and $11. Season-tickets in the mezzanine will cost $4.50.
Other highlights: $1 per game season-tickets for children under
12; picnic area seats are reduced to $13 each for adults and $5
each for children; and seats in the "Fish Tank," the last three
rows in the upper deck between first and third, will cost $2 for
adults and $1.50 for children (MIAMI HERALD, 10/20).
NORTH SIDE, SOUTH SIDE: An annual CHICAGO SUN-TIMES reader
poll indicates White Sox fans are "displeased" with the club's
management, while Cubs supporters "aren't nearly as angered" at
their team's front office. Only 44.9% of the respondents believe
White Sox GM Ron Schueler should be retained. Cubs GM Ed Lynch
collected a 67.1% approval rating, and Cubs President Andy
MacPhail received nearly 75% approval (Toni Ginnetti, CHICAGO
SUN-TIMES, 10/20).
