     NANCY IRSAY, wife of Colts Owner BOB IRSAY, who suffered a
massive stroke last November, issued a statement to dispute
"continuing national media confusion" about her husband's
condition.  Irsay: "There just seems to be this raging rumor that
he's on his death bed.  It's unkind.  It's untrue" (AP/SALT LAKE
TRIBUNE, 10/20)....Rockets' CHARLES BARKLEY, on Charleston, SC,
where they had an exhibition: "Any place where it takes 30
minutes to get a cab, and then the cabbie comes in and drinks a
beer with you, I don't know about that place" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE,
10/21).
