STADIUM FORUM IN CHARM CITY: MODELL JUST SAYS NO TO NBA

     A symposium sponsored by the Commercial Real Estate Network
of Maryland and entitled, "If You Build It, Economic Development
Will Come," was held Tuesday in Baltimore, according to Jay
Hancock of the Baltimore SUN.  Topics of discussion included
whether a new basketball/hockey arena should be built downtown
and how infrastructure will be set up around the new Ravens
stadium so parking will not be a problem.  Ravens Owner Art
Modell said he was "opposed outright" to luring an NBA franchise.
Modell: "I don't want to hear about basketball.  Very few cities
can support three professional sports teams. ... You start
splitting it up -- everybody gets hurt" (Baltimore SUN, 10/9).
