SOME WARRIORS FANS DON'T WISH TO KNOW THE WAY TO SAN JOSE

Some fans in the Bay Area have been "vocal" and chosen not
to renew season tickets for the Warriors' one season stay in San
Jose Arena while a $121M renovation is completed at the Oakland
Coliseum Arena, according to David Steele in the S.F. CHRONICLE.
The reason most "are opting to surrender their tickets" is the
commute to San Jose, but "many are also are angry that in not
renewing for this season, they are losing priority for seating at
the new arena." The Warriors "plan to rank those who gave up
their tickets this season below those who renewed this year."
Warriors officials said complaints from some Bay Area fans, who
are "rankled" about seat location changes from the Coliseum Arena
to San Jose, are "unavoidable." The Warriors are "prepared" to
lose a segment of their season-ticket base because of the move
south, but they expect to surpass last year's total of 12,209
season tickets. The team is hoping South Bay fans "will pick up
the slack," and that fans will take advantage of several 'mini-
plans' being sold."
PLS PLAN: To pay off the renovation debt, team counsel Robin
Baggett said that starting in '97, about 7,500 seats will be sold
through PSLs (S.F. CHRONICLE, 9/28).
