TEAM MEDIA NOTES: FLYERS TO PRISM FOR ONE MORE YEAR?

     In Philadelphia, Mike Bruton reports the Flyers and Prism
sports channel are expected to sign a one-year deal in the "next
few days" giving Prism the right to televise 39 home games plus
any Flyers post-season action.  The team's deal with Prism
expired at the end of last season (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER,
9/22)....Ascent Sports signed a TV deal for local Avalanche
broadcasts with Prime Sports and Denver's KMGH-ABC.  When
combined with additional network coverage, 67 of the team's 82
games will be on TV (Ascent). ....The Blazers' signing of
Aleksandar Djordojevic will be carried live on the World Wide Web
at http://www.blazers.com or http://www .ripcity.com (USA TODAY,
9/24)....Pirates Owner Kevin McClatchy has said long-time "fan
favorite" broadcaster Lanny Frattare can return next year.  The
announcement comes after Frattare's work was criticized by Prime
Sports KBL GM Bill Craig, which televises most of the games.
McClatchy "made an issue of Frattare's future earlier in this
year when he said all Pirates personnel, including broadcasters,
would be evaluated at the end of the season" (PITTSBURGH POST-
GAZETTE, 9/21)....TSN will broadcast Expos games as the go for a
wildcard spot.  TSN will preempt their Blue Jays telecast for the
Expos (TSN).
