FORMER REEBOK PRESIDENT ROBERTO MULLER BUYS IMSA

Roberto Muller, President of the Muller Sports Group (TMSG),
acquired the International Motor Sports Association (ISMA) on
Friday. As part of the purchase, Muller's TMSG will infuse new
capital, broaden management and develop new short-and-long term
strategies. The purchase of the North American car racing
governing body is the first purchase for Muller and his Sports
Group after one year in operation. Muller is former President of
Reebok Int'l (IMSA). A group headed by car owners Rob Dyson,
Charles Morgan and Dan Doyle, among others, had announced their
intention to buy IMSA in April, but the "disclosure that IMSA was
awash in a sea of red ink of up" to $2.1M delayed that deal (Bill
Oursler, NATIONAL SPEED SPORT NEWS, 9/18 issue). In Tampa,
Holly Cain notes the deal was completed in less that two weeks,
but neither Muller or IMSA would reveal the purchase price.
George Silbermann will remain IMSA's COO & President, "handling
all motorsports related-business." IMSA's offices will remain in
Tampa and "there are no plans for major personnel moves" (TAMPA
TRIBUNE, 9/21).
